Website modernization means improving what you already have. I clean up the SEO, remove pages that drag the site down, review the content and secure the login. Your address and what the site has earned in Google stay.
You have a website, but it does not do its job?
A new website is not always needed. Often it is enough to clean up what has piled up over the years.
Google shows the site poorly, or not at allThe same title on several pages, no H1 heading, a description generated by a plugin, a different business address in the footer than on the Google profile. Each of these is minor on its own. Together they tell Google the site is neglected.
Pages and content that hurt the siteTest pages, services you no longer offer, text copied from someone else’s site along with the name of another city, even a phone number that rings a competitor. I find things like this in reviews more often than you would expect.
An AI-built site looks fine, but does not workAI-built websites are usually made in Astro or React. Astro sites tend to display fine, but without a good prompt they miss the SEO basics. React sites can have a bigger problem: the content only loads in the browser, so Google may see an almost empty page.
If you recognise your site, website modernization is usually enough. I fix what does harm and keep what works.
What does website modernization include?
On-page SEO fixesTitles, descriptions and H1 headings on every important page, business details consistent with your Google Business Profile, and structured data (schema), so Google knows what you do and where.
Cleaning up the pagesI remove or merge pages that add nothing or duplicate others. Where an old address had traffic, I set up a redirect, so you do not lose what the site has already earned.
Content reviewI catch text copied from other sites, outdated services and prices, other people’s phone numbers and links. I fix them, or mark what you need to fill in, because you know your business better than I do.
Securing the loginTwo-factor login for administrators, new passwords, a review of accounts with panel access and a backup before any changes. On WordPress I also remove plugins nobody needs, because each one is another door.
Removing malware, if I find itFake plugins with random names, modified files, files pretending to be images. If the review shows the site was infected, I clean it and close the way the infection got in.
Fixing websites built with AIOn an Astro site I add what the AI left out: titles, descriptions, headings and business details. On a React site I check whether Google sees the content without waiting for scripts, and fix it where it does not. I check the forms along the way.
When does modernizing a website make sense?
Modernization fits when:
- the site is a few years old and nobody has properly reviewed it,
- someone else built it and you do not know what is inside,
- you built it yourself or with AI, and something does not work,
- you want to keep the address and your Google rankings and improve the rest,
- you worry that someone who should not have access to the panel does.
Before I quote, I review the site and tell you plainly what is worth fixing and what can stay.
Another service is a better fit when:
- the site is in a builder you do not have full access to, or its design and content are only fit for replacing,
- you only need regular updates and backups, without fixes.
In that case it is fairer to start with a new website or with ongoing maintenance. I will tell you which option costs less.

Frequently asked questions about website modernization
How is modernizing a website different from a new website?
With modernization you keep the address, most of the content and whatever the site has already earned in Google. I fix errors, remove what is not needed and secure the site. A new website only makes sense when the current one cannot reasonably be fixed.
How much does website modernization cost?
It depends on the size of the site and what I find in it. That is why I review the site first and then give you a specific scope and price. Enter the address in the form and I will reply with a quote.
Will I lose my Google rankings after modernization?
After bigger changes, rankings can fluctuate for 2–3 weeks while Google re-evaluates the site, and then they settle. To keep what works, pages with traffic stay or get a redirect to their new address. I only remove what brings no traffic or hurts the rest of the site.
Do you fix websites built with AI?
Yes. Those sites are usually made in Astro or React. Astro sites mostly display correctly but miss the SEO basics if nobody asked for them.
